TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Dec 26 The Christmas Break is a charming holiday film that often gets unfairly criticized for being corny or cheesy. The story centers on an uncle, played by Justin Long, who adores his nieces and nephews and wants to be the best role model he can be while questioning his own readiness for parenthood. Long delivers a sincere, engaging performance that makes the character relatable and enjoyable. The supporting cast, however, is underdeveloped, leaving some family members feeling disconnected. The screenplay is uneven, with moments of humor and warmth but lacking strong connections between the broader family unit. The pacing is steady, and the festive visuals complement the holiday atmosphere, though some emotional beats feel shallow. Despite these flaws, the film is entertaining, heartwarming, and suitable for family viewing. While it doesn’t achieve greatness, it remains an enjoyable seasonal watch that highlights family bonds and festive cheer. See more Robin C 12/13/2024 Overall a dreadful watch some of the editing was laughable which was ironic because there was nothing funny about this film. It has left me wanting my hour and a half back after wasting my time on that. See more Clive E 12/12/2024 Not a classic by a long way. But if easy watching cheese with little effort required is your thing then could do worse. India Mullen is simply gorgeous, so watching her for an hour and a half isn’t too bad a way to spend time See more Erik B 12/10/2024 Melodramatic bun fun enough holiday movie about a couple dealing with marital issues while trying to survive a family holiday gathering. See more Ed R @JustcallmeER 11/29/2024 Is Hulu trying to be Hallmark? A shame for a great actor like Justin Long to take on this role. See more Read all reviews
