I was really impressed with this movie with the way that it navigates a bunch of different kinds of genres in a tricky way, 'cause it is a low-key comedy for a while, but then it becomes a sci-fi film and a legit horror film.

Gente, demorei um pouco para digerir essa obra-prima, como assim, ainda estou uau, me interessei por esse retiro espiritual, uma forma, bizarra de purificação espiritual, que vai do "fofo e cute" para o "horrendo e repugnante" o melhor e pior de nós mesmos, se conseguirmos nos distanciar da realidade,e nos abster de críticas mordazes, poderemos fazer uma analogia com a perspectiva humana a cerca do futuro e prospecções do sucesso, futuro e realização pessoal… Simplesmente M-A-R-A-V-I-L-H-O-S-O

Not bad. Went interesting places, but was about as subtle as a sledgehammer and I couldn't agree with its glib conclusion. If only it was that easy! I did love the creatures. Grotesque and adorable at the same time. Threatening in their later metamorphoses. Nice to see practical effects again. Really nice. Practical effects have a magic computer generated stuff just doesn't.
