Wealthy tycoon Carl May (Brian Cox) claims to love his wife, Joanna (Patricia Hodge), but he seems much more concerned with business than with his spouse. After the lonely Joanna turns to another man, Carl finds out and divorces her. After they split, he goes to great lengths to take his revenge on her. Finally, Joanna decides she can take no more of Carl's meddling, so she confronts him at his home, where she is shocked to learn that he has tried to replace her with a series of clones.
