Robert Koehler Variety Instead of delivering a wallop to the gut, The Colonel is too rigidly conceived to be anything more than a polite reminder of man's inhumanity to man. Sep 12, 2006 Full Review David Walsh World Socialist Web Site The Colonel ... is obviously sincere and concerned with compelling moral and political issues. This is not a trivial or unserious work. Feb 14, 2021 Full Review Prairie Miller WBAI Web Radio Far too muted and reticent for a film about colonial occupation, mass carnage and secret military interrogation and torture, Mon Colonel is nevertheless a well meaning anti-war movie with integrity and conscience. May 19, 2007 Full Review Joseph Proimakis Movies for the Masses full review in Greek Rated: 2/5 Apr 18, 2007 Full Review Jon Popick Planet S Magazine Like an expanded version of Sayid's flashback episode of Lost. Only, like, not nearly as interesting. Sep 6, 2006 Full Review Read all reviews

peter h it is one of the best anti war films i have ever seen Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/26/20 Full Review Audience Member Well worth a see. Wonderfully tragic narrative giving insight into French colonial politics and human nature. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting French-made moral fable about the army's role in the Algerian war. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Real nice movie. Some of the scenes are a tribute to the "Battle of Algiers". The plot is quite simple the young officer dilemna between consciousness and efficiency. The movie then mix several characters, Massu, Hélie de Saint-Marc, Aussarés, Trinquier, Teitgen, Bigeard etc... Stories close to famous cases like Audain are in the background. The crude imagery of "Intimate ennemy" is missing, horror needs to be shown as it was. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member a must seen movies Cost Gavras Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
