Stephen Romei The Australian You may come out of it agreeing with him, disagreeing with him, or somewhere in between. But it's a live issue that could change the world, could end the world as we know it, and this dedicated journalist wants to make sure we know about it. MrKnobben This should not be in the documentary category. This is a two hour pile of shit were the 'journalist'Pilger spews his own shitty socialistic ideas. Terrible from start to finish. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/27/23 Full Review Stephen B A must see movie everyone should be aware of -- and stay with it till the end. You will not be disappointed; except you'll be shocked and aware this is what everyone should watch. PG 13 at least, and viewer discretion for those already saddened by recent events.. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/27/23 Full Review Thomas S Some fascinating and heart wrenching insights into the absolutely cruel nuclear testing that the US did on innocent people in the Marshall Islands. My goodness is that a dark stain on the USA... Now, that said - John Pilger has a bias the size of the Pacific Ocean. (I say this as a Brit, who doesn't particularly love the USA). His pathetic line of China has "human rights issues" (understatement of the Century there, John) takes away from a lot of his documentary. Also, trying to portray chairman Mao as this poor little bloke that just wanted to be chums with the west and ignoring the millions he killed is downright disgraceful. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Had. High hopes for this, but sadly it was very biased. Some points of interest but it was blatantly anti US, while ignoring any misdeeds of the Chinese govt. would not recommend. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member A documentary with foresight (consider this is compiled in 2016) Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member This documentary should have its name changed to 'How America mistreats the people of the Marshall Islands, Oh and China is super nice compared to America'. The first 40 minutes of this documentary is dedicated to the nuclear testing in the Marshall Islands, an interesting subject, but it completely loses track of what this documentary claims to be about. But the real problems start when they start talking about China. They seemingly blame only the United States for the treatment of China in the late 19th and early 20th century, when it was Britain that flooded most of the Opium into China. But it serves the filmmakers purpose of making America look horrible, while not even mentioning the millions of people killed by Mao, and then ignoring all the evils of modern China with a disgusting throw away line that China has 'some issues with human rights', it is ridiculous statements like that give the filmmakers no credibility. If you are keen on a terrible propaganda piece that would make Mao proud, then definitely watch this documentary, but just make sure you turn your brain off before you press play.
