Audience Member Wonderfully-shot short with an imprecise-yet-strong message. The child actors were impressive. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Starts off as a funny story about a Catholic school boy who doesn't have any really bad sin to confess and so he feels something will be missing in this step toward coming of age. His friend thinks the robes look like dresses and gently pressures the boy into mild mischief like cutting through a farmer's field with their bikes and taking down the scarecrow. The story surprised me by taking a sudden dark turn. Like a nightmare the boy now deals with some major guilt. Does the priest guess the extent of his sins? I'm not a fan of the religious context. What is really the message of this short film? It was difficult to tell if the act of confession was meant to be portrayed as something that truly saves a soul like a simple band aid over a wound, or if it was trying to point out the faults of this simplistic method of letting individuals off from wrongdoing.
