Jack S A lavish and generally well made television version that would have benefitted from a little narrative focus—the massive classic novel is just too broad a source to effectively cover with this much detail and this many characters in merely a 1-3/4 hour long production. Chamberlain makes a fine and dashing Dantes, but Curtis is unfortunately miscast. Nelligan, in her debut, strongly dominates her every scene—more of her and simply less of everything else would have satisfyingly improved the result here. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member A very watered down version of the book, which is no bad thing. However, the hammy acting lives up to the ridiculous nature of the story. Pretty average stuff and not worth watching on any level really. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the 1000 movies to see before death. For those who love the greatest films ever. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A very mediocre film that can't handle a novel like this very well. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Crappy acting and the movie felt so fast. And I'm not sure if my phone is wigging out or not, but it says this movie is rated R. This movie isn't even close to an R rated film. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member good adaptation of the classic novel and better than the one released in 2002.
