Nicolas Rapold New York Times This reserved, tragicomic story of existential flight across Argentina is defined by its shifting, literary voice-over about the textured, wide-screen expanses crossed by its protagonist. Rated: 3/5 Sep 30, 2013 Full Review Matthew Connolly Slant Magazine At once familiar and enigmatic, Javier Rebollo's The Dead Man and Being Happy feels like a connect-the-dots film with a few lines artfully blurred. Sep 29, 2013 Full Review Gaspar Zimerman Clarín With few words and austere expressiveness, [Jos] Sacristn manages to give shape to a creature both credible and likable. jake s A mildly entertaining romp through Argentina. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This is another one of those Latin American movies with no plot, no substance, no story, that pretend to be profound and thought provoking while being simply shallow and empty. It feels like a 16 year old's first attempt at making a movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member A Goddard-esque journey through Argentina where a dying professional assassin travels and laments on the people he has killed in his life while a female (and occasionally a male) voiceover tells us what is happening on screen like a university student eulogizing over an end of term paper - OR a total piece of nonsense that goes nowhere and test the patience (and consciousness or lacking thereof) of its audience. I think you know which one I pick. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
