Joe Leydon Variety Pic overall has the feel of something tossed off to pass time and pay bills between more prestigious gigs. Oct 16, 2007 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...ultimately manages to overcome its myriad of deficiencies to become a surprisingly entertaining little actioner... Yet it's got a slick look and at least a few passable action scenes. Rated: 63/100 Aug 31, 2007 Full Review Read all reviews

Jeffrey P A solid little motion picture that stays above water without overdoing it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/25/24 Full Review kevin c Paul Walker plays an imprisoned ex Marine who is offered a way out of prison to impersonate a drug dealer in a hostage exchange. Things don't go as smoothly as hoped, and now the DEA, bikers and drug dealers are trying to kill him. Walker is always fun to watch in these types of movies. Lawrence Fishburne and Olivia Wilde co star. Not a bad action thriller mostly due to Zthe charm of Walker. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Really liked this story although the movie adaptation has too many flashbacks and didn't do well at the box office. But come on, how many movies does the reluctant hero get away with the beautiful girl, adopted son, the money, and the boat? Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member I loved the movie, The music was awesome to bad they didn't put a soundtrack out there is one song that nobody seems to know who sings it the words go I tip my hand to the guard at the gate. It just leaves you hanging. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Not a bad watch, no interest in watching it a second time but entertaining enough. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member The great Bobby Z is coming back. Mike Tearney is a former Marine who has been down on his luck and made some really bad decisions. While in prison, he kills the leader of a large gang. Fortunately for him, the DEA approaches him about a chance to pretend to be a guy named Bobby Z who needs to be exchanged in a hostage negotiation. Mike decides that may be a better option than staying in jail. A wild adventure ensues. "Did you know you have a kid?" "With who? "Does it matter? "Not really." John Herzfeld, director of Two of a Kind, 15 Minutes, Reach Me, Remember, The Preppie Murder, and episodes from television series Tales from the Crypt and The Paper Chase, delivers Bobby Z. The storyline for this is fairly flimsy and weak. The acting was just okay and the cast includes Paul Walker, Laurence Fishburne, Keith Carradine, Jason Flemying, and Olivia Wilde. "We want you to be somebody." "That's what my mom used to say." I came across this on Netflix and decided to give it a shot. We found it moderately entertaining but a bit like Runner Runner. There were some cool shootouts, but I wouldn't even recommend this to action genre junkies. I recommend skipping this movie. "Don't bruise the fruit."
