Buenos Aires bank employee Morán dreams up a scheme to liberate himself from corporate monotony: he'll steal enough money to support a modest retirement, then confess and serve prison time while his co-worker holds on to the cash. Moreno first presents a heist as mundane as his characters’ lives before complexifying things. This is partly a film of hitches, the pressures and complications of staying in prison or keeping up appearances. Yet it is also ever-shifting.

It is impossible not to burst out laughing when the character says, "Three and a half in prison, or twenty-five in the bank." The story is excellent.

An exceptionally good film, an absolute stand-out in the sea of mediocrity that the movie biz sees fit to unleash upon us. Since the beginning of the year I have seen on the big screen more than 90 films. I felt none but but three or four were worth my time (Bonello's The Beast, Ilker's Takar's The Teachers' Lounge, Ana Vaz's NIghtttime in America, and of course this one. I can't imagine seeing a better film this year. Although one can dream, can't one? The brief Robert Bresson homage in the middle of the picture a delightful surprise, sort of a cherry-on-top.
