Test T I've just started watching this on DVD, and it's not going well. Considering the cover art, I was expecting sci fi, but so far its definitely not that. Currently, there's lots of dialog going on in a log cabin by a lake, and it's going nowhere fast. I'm really disappointed and bored. Story-line seemed to lose focus towards the end and the last 2 minutes killed it for me. Would not recommend. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/16/23 Full Review Audience Member I bought this movie at the $1 store. So one day I decided to chance my $1 and buy a few DVD's from the $1 store, mostly because I wanted to see if these $1 movies (which were mostly HORROR by the way) would be not necessarily bad as I thought they might be, but to see if these filmmakers who have these so called "tight" budgets could be creative and actually make a good movie out of what they have... but so far it has been nothing but awful movies. For a film with a tight budget they could of done better...WAY better. While the idea about aliens living among us is rather cliched it did make for a good log line and that's all it was good for because the execution of the movie was awful. First the editing of the video wasn't that great there were a few scenes where the cuts were not seamless and you'd catch someones head or arm moving into the next cut also causing the timing of the characters reactions to be off as well. The audio also sounded like it was a bit off in multiple scenes. Second: The acting was bad especially Kate Alden who played "Rebecca" to me she had the weakest performance. Instead of a girl who was acting like she couldn't remember what happened to her and being scared outta her mind I felt like I was watching a girl who wandered onto a movie set and couldn't find her way out. David S. Hogan "Calvin" had the strongest performance of the 3 main characters I felt he portrayed his good/evil side pretty well despite the terrible execution of the story, and while I felt Angela Dimarco "Abby" did a better job than Kate Alden it still wasn't a very strong performance. Third: The DVD artwork and log line is very misleading...it said in the description that the two sisters would soon find out that aliens live among us blah blah blah..except none of that happened in the story, they find the sphere in the woods and soon after we get the cliched aliens are contacting me in my nightmares plot and weird things start happening to them which is also a cliched technique and before you know it the movies over with never really seeing anything happen outside of the 3 characters. Look I know there's no such thing as an "original" idea anymore so I understand many things are cliched so if I give them a break on anything it'd be on that. Also the DVD artwork was misleading, the front shows a girl with things coming out of her, and the back looked like one of the bots from iRobot. The problem? neither one of those images had anything to do with the story lol. Overall instead of feeling like I was watching an actual movie, it felt more like I was watching an X-files episode, which is what I felt the movie should have been anyway, the first episode of a TV show rather than a movie. But here's one positive thing..believe it or not as bad as some of these movies are, I get a good laugh out of them and sometimes I find myself buying bad movies on purpose when I need a good laugh..but not all of them... the movie "Hollows Grove" for example was a God dam waste of time. D+ Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Slow moving. Terrible script. Special effects are B rated. Images from disc case look interesting but do not match any scenes from the movie and deceive you into thinking that this is a high budget film.
