Follow renowned rock climbers Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell on a 2,600-mile expedition to tackle one of the most daunting challenges of their careers: summiting the infamous Devils Thumb. The Devils Thumb is a sinister tower of ice-plastered granite deep in the wilderness of southeast Alaska and is known as one of the most dangerous mountains in North America. For Alex Honnold, this climb is among the greatest adventures of his life, a testament to his relentless drive to achieve the impossible. For his best friend, Tommy Caldwell, it's a chance to make a heroic comeback after a career-threatening Achilles injury. The friends undertake an epic journey to the Devils Thumb, traveling by bicycle, sailboat and on foot through the American West, Canada and Alaska. Witness the extraordinary courage and pulse-pounding climbing as the two attempt to accomplish the first-ever, single-day traverse of all five peaks of the Devils Thumb massif -- and push their bodies and bond to the absolute limit.

Emily DuGranrut In Review Online In total, the documentary struggles to maintain the excitement of either Honnold or Caldwell's earlier cinematic presentations, or even the high-stakes drama of other climbing films. Oct 29, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Max L It's a good concept - coming back from this kind of injury with the high stakes climb and the buddy adventure. I think they could have used a different filmographer - there was a lot of energy and drama that was wasted through not enough show and too much tell.nl Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/05/25 Full Review arjay m Although it seems very fake it is a marvel to the eye, and no time waister at all. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/07/24 Full Review Les N Yeah I don't think those guys are sane. Nauseatingly high! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/02/24 Full Review Audience Member Boring old men trying to reclaim youth and an awkward friendship. Let me see if I've got this straight...You guys made a big deal about riding bikes to the mt., but you are fully supported with a seperate van...please. this type of doc. is stale, repetitive, and egotistic. Who cares? Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/27/24 Full Review John H “Extraordinary,” does not even begin to explain what this is like Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/24/24 Full Review Paul P Amazing scenery and incredible climbing despite boring, repetitive monologs render the story best told on mute. The only interesting and literate character was the Alaskan resident who warned of the impending danger. If only he had narrated. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/22/24 Full Review Read all reviews
