Synopsis
In this film adaption of George Bernard Shaw's play, Mrs. Dubedat (Leslie Caron), a devoted wife of a skilled painter (Dirk Bogarde), dedicates herself to saving him from the tuberculosis he has contracted. She tracks down renowned society doctor Sir Colenso Ridgeon (John Robinson) and pleads with him to fit her husband into his schedule. Ridgeon wants to be sure that the man is worth the effort, but he finds himself in a moral quandary when he discovers Mr. Dubedat has more than one wife.
