It's sort of a pseudo-modernized adaptation of Dostoevsky's story. It's ostensibly complex as a result, but ultimately proves shallow and simplistic. I'll give it a few extra points for Eisenberg's intriguing performance(s).

Richard Ayoade's The Double comes only a few years after his directorial debut, SUBMARINE. From Jesse Eisenberg's great performance to Chris Morris' cameo, this film just is an awesome ride, it's like a twister ride at those theme parks, always goes SO SO SO fast, but it's always the best there. THE DOUBLE is a thrilling and fun ride which never fails to disappoint.

The comparisons (fairly or unfairly) to Villeneuve's "Enemy" are unavoidable in this doppelganger movie. And while this movie at times is rather interesting and thought provoking, it doesn't stack up compared to "Enemy".

Olha, esse filme é muito interessante, claramente ele foi baseado no livro O Duplo do Dostoiévski e eu indico assistir. Minhas dicas são: Não prepare a pipoca e desligue o celular, esse filme exige sua atenção, veja o filme com fones, a trilha é interessante e por fim, guarde as críticas para o final, sei que você vai traçar um paralelo com a tua própria vida. *COMUNICADO* ESTÁ ANALISE FOI FEITA FRIAMENTE SEM QUALQUER TIPO DE EMOÇÃO ENVOLVIDA, CUIDADO AO CONSUMIR O FILME A ESCOLHA ESTA SOB SEUS COMANDOS E SE BEBER NÃO DIRIJA O PANICO DIRIGE PRA VOCÊ.
