R D Had potential but the amateur cinematography and audio was very distracting. Some scenes were out of focus, and there were numerous scenes where the overlapped audio did not match. You would see the actors mouths moving but there was no sound...not sure how this was missed during editing. Overall the storyline had potential, but some subplots were a bit strange. Also the movie moved so fast at times that certain character relationships left me confused. Eric Balfour and Regina Hall's characters relationship moved so fast that it didn't make much sense. They should have expounded on it a little more if they felt the need to include it. Side note, it's funny how Regina Hall had such a small role in this film and today she is the most successful actor out of everyone in this film. It's cool watching how far some actors have come from the early days of their career. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/24 Full Review Audience Member It was cute, but I probably won't watch it again. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member really odd and creepy at times. it could've been way better. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member The Elder Son is the story of a young guy named Bo (Shane West). Bo and his friend Skip are con men, who are running from the law. They seek shelter from the cops, with a Russian family. Bo being a con man, convinces the father of the family, Max, that he is his long lost son. Everything seems to be going along swimmingly, until Bo starts thinking of Max as his father. Worse yet, he falls in love with his fake sister, Lolita (Leelee Sobieski). This film was OK, I wouldn't say it was good. The story was cute. But, that con man falling for the person they are conning, has been done a thousand times. There was nothing brilliant about this movie, to pull it out of the muddled masses of those films that had been done before it. Shane West is easy on the eyes, but let's face it, he's not the greatest actor on the planet. Leelee Sobieski I like, she is very pretty and always seems to have a biting sarcastic side, which I can appreciate. Rade Serbedzija was good as Max, I will give him that. He played a father that loved his family very much. The film did have a few funny moments, but nothing spectacular. I don't know if I'd run to watch it again, but it didn't suck any of my brain cells away for watching it. If you are bored, and looking for something to kill time, The Elder Son is probably less painful to sit through, then your Debbie Downer friend's latest dissertation about the travesties in her life. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member actually pretty funny and slightly heartwarming. i always really enjoy rade (i mean come on, boris the blade?) and eric balfour, but shane west is also very good as well. plus the last line in this film gets a good laugh from me Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member This is totally an underrated movie. True it might not have a strong plot not incredible actors (though a cast will very much recognize), but it's best described as...life. This is what this movie represents the life of a russian family, with it's ups and downs, lies, various aspects and perspectives. It's true it takes patience to watch it to the end, and without sounding harsh this is a good movie for a one view only.

Quickpost this image to Myspace, Digg, Facebook, and others!
