A relentlessly dark and grim allegory that's initially provocative with a foreboding, creepy atmosphere and psychological terror before morphing into a shallow, repetitive, unevenly paced and heavy-handed horror thriller. Go to Full Review

A mysteriously wicked horror that starts off as a tale of supernatural residency and influence on our grandparents. Hold on though, because Cerezo and Gómez have more in store for you - truly unexpected things. Go to Full Review

geronotophobic apartment horror... allegorises society’s shifting attitudes towards the elderly as all at once valuable repositories of history, conduits of familial tradition, wizened objects of abjection, and reminders of humanity’s universal destiny. Go to Full Review

Solo U 02/26/2024 One of the best horror movies I ever seen See more Matt H 01/20/2024 A beautifully made film with moody shots in old Spanish apartments. The cast turned in solid performances, too. Everything here looks and feels like a solid intelligent horror movie, but the story is a mess. I like slow-burn horror, but this movie stood around tried to be ominous and menacing for an hour plus, and then all hell breaks loose: neither is satisfying on their own and they sure as hell don't work together. A very disappointing film, but I'd watch something else from the director, though. There's definitely promise for a great film if there's a solid script.
