Bob C Wonderful documentary. Covers both the history of the marquee groups from the collective as well as lesser known artists and side projects I hadn't heard of. Visually evokes the same feeling as the music while delicately exploring the human side of the bands and artists. I think even if you're not overly familiar with the Elephant 6 bands there's a lot to find and relate to in here, as the need to gravitate towards and collaborate with people outside of established industries is perhaps more important and meaningful than ever. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/01/24 Full Review el Absolutely beautiful film that touched the hearts of everyone in that theatre with me. Amazing to see the origins of Elephant 6, how key members of the movement feel to this day, and feeling the spirit of art and love come to life all in around 90 minutes. Highly recommend to anyone even slightly interested in E6 stuff—worth the watch, and the tears. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/01/23 Full Review Cirice A As an aspiring musical artist who is also based out of Athens, this was the most inspiring film I have ever watched. Watching this doc lit a fire underneath me and motivated me more than anything else in this world ever could. Thank you Stockfleth for encouraging me to not give up in the music industry. Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle Like much of the music, it's more about the vibe. Rated: 3/5 Feb 15, 2023 Full Review Benjamin H. Smith Decider Still, the film has much to recommend it, covering the proceedings with affection and effectively capturing the participants’ offball charm. Oct 3, 2023 Full Review Sean Burns North Shore Movies A good deal more visually interesting than the usual rockumentary. Sep 16, 2023 Full Review Rodrigo Perez The Playlist If this E6 portrait gets anything right it’s the chaotic creativity that seemed to burst out of many of its members like exploding sunlight their bodies could not handle as if something out of a kooky sci-fi film. Rated: B Sep 3, 2023 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue Depending on your familiarity, this offbeat documentary is either a suitable introduction or an affectionate appreciation. Aug 30, 2023 Full Review Tanner Gordon Spectrum Culture Ebullient and relatively unconcerned with audience initiation, Stockfleth’s documentary on the titular collective certainly appears to be a product of the vibrant community it depicts, rather than a view from the outside in.
