Paul Mount Starburst Once it gets going, The Elixir never lets up the pace, powering along through a sea of guts and gore with some hugely imaginative and genuinely spectacular high octane sequences even as it rarely loses sight of the character beats set up in the first act. Rated: 4/5 Nov 10, 2025 Full Review JK Sooja Common Sense Media So much about the production, execution, and vision of The Elixir is great, despite its main flaw. The problem is simply that this particular flaw happens to be a cardinal sin of zombie movies: characters don't behave realistically. Rated: 3/5 Oct 29, 2025 Full Review John Serba Decider The director sacrifices his characters – their bodies and their intelligence – and indulges far too many contrivances for the sake of delivering near-non-stop action and gore. Oct 28, 2025 Full Review Claire Lewis Polygon It's mostly serving up scares. But they're effective scares, and because the film gives each character enough room to grow and doesn't punish them for having flaws, the result is an engaging and enjoyable entry in the zombie horror genre. Oct 27, 2025 Full Review LaNeysha Campbell But Why Tho? A Geek Community The Elixir is a gory, unpredictable thriller that’s as messy as it is mesmerizing. Its pacing issues and uneven storytelling, however, prevent it from reaching the emotional depths it aims for. Rated: 6/10 Oct 27, 2025 Full Review Casey Chong Casey's Movie Mania Kimo Stamboel’s otherwise technically proficient zombie horror suffers from a hollow storytelling. I'm L Overall, 3.5/5 stars, it's nice but generic. You can watch it for fun—it's nice. And here's why... The Characters act realistically enough—not everyone will have a flight or fight mode, most will stand still, trying to comprehend what is happening around them—which reflect on each characters personality yet it varies which snaps out of it and acts quickly. The Pacing of the Movie is nice—it's not slow, its enough for the audience to understand what is going on and what may happen next. It actually very intense, as every part of the movies leads to another, it may be too tense for some individuals—as only few of the scenes have a "breather room". As most of the scene does consist of fighting or facing the struggles. The Cinematography of it is decent as it is situated on the country side—it not that impactful or dynamic. When I was watching it, I didn't really find any angle or symbol that may hint or even direct to a visual art, I might have missed but I guess it's alright. The Plotline is normal and basic—quite predictable but I did enjoy the opening scene and how it's relates back to the actually story. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/10/25 Full Review Sam C Nice make-up and practical effects. Plot and story kinda weak. The acting is pretty stiff. Most noticable is the dude playing "Bambang". Both self-Sacrificial scenes over the top. The scene in the police station would suffice. The paddy field suicide scene was not necessary. Overall a decent flick. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/10/25 Full Review Audience Member The most stup*d movie i ever seen! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/08/25 Full Review J C the worst zombie movie I've ever seen, the zombies are smarter than the main character. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/06/25 Full Review Artemis W Seriously. Why are the characters so dumb? It's frustrating. Like, "oh, the zombies are all running towards us? let's just stay put and scream and not run!"... *sigh* but here I am, still finishing the movie.... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/03/25 Full Review Jasmine H Most pathetic zombie movie ever. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/03/25 Full Review Read all reviews
