Chris Joyce Movies and Munchies (YouTube) The storyline is predictable, the characters make stupid choices, and the movie is a bit long, but despite that, the makeup, practical & special effects, and emotive performances all combine for a visually gross and emotionally exciting narrative. Rated: 3/5 Nov 12, 2025 Full Review Paul Mount Starburst Once it gets going, The Elixir never lets up the pace, powering along through a sea of guts and gore with some hugely imaginative and genuinely spectacular high octane sequences even as it rarely loses sight of the character beats set up in the first act. Rated: 4/5 Nov 10, 2025 Full Review JK Sooja Common Sense Media So much about the production, execution, and vision of The Elixir is great, despite its main flaw. The problem is simply that this particular flaw happens to be a cardinal sin of zombie movies: characters don't behave realistically. Rated: 3/5 Oct 29, 2025 Full Review John Serba Decider The director sacrifices his characters – their bodies and their intelligence – and indulges far too many contrivances for the sake of delivering near-non-stop action and gore. Oct 28, 2025 Full Review Claire Lewis Polygon It's mostly serving up scares. But they're effective scares, and because the film gives each character enough room to grow and doesn't punish them for having flaws, the result is an engaging and enjoyable entry in the zombie horror genre. Oct 27, 2025 Full Review LaNeysha Campbell But Why Tho? A Geek Community The Elixir is a gory, unpredictable thriller that’s as messy as it is mesmerizing. Its pacing issues and uneven storytelling, however, prevent it from reaching the emotional depths it aims for. Rated: 6/10 Oct 27, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

cassandra g This movie was very frustrating to watch. The characters did not use their brains in the situations they were put in. I do not recommend watching at all. (ENGLISH) Indonesia isn’t exactly famous for its zombie movies, but The Elixir of Immortality turns out to be a pleasant surprise. It doesn’t try to reinvent anything, yet it delivers what matters: action, blood, and pure fun. The premise is familiar —a failed experiment gone wrong— but it works. Everything starts with a supposed rejuvenating elixir that, of course, ends up turning people into the undead. What’s nice is how fast things spiral out of control; the movie skips explanations and throws you straight into the madness. Visually, it’s above average for this kind of production. The practical effects are surprisingly solid: the transformations, the gore, and the chaos are handled with energy and not too much CGI. It’s rough around the edges, but there’s charm in the way it embraces the absurd. The script doesn’t go far —characters make ridiculous choices, and the family drama barely holds up— yet it all somehow works. There’s a certain unintentional humor and a sense of chaos that make it oddly enjoyable. The Elixir of Immortality is pure B-movie fun: loud, gory, and with an energy that’s hard to resist. Don’t look for depth —just sit back and enjoy nearly two hours of old-school zombie mayhem. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/23/25 Full Review TataKata K I watched it because of the hype around it in Indonesia, and frankly, it's just an overly-hyped overly-rated movie. I don't care who produced it, where, what nations, etc. a good movie is a good movie, and a bad movie is a bad movie. The acting are sub-par, and the sound effects, music choices, etc aren't the best. Too many cringeworthy stupid decisions etc, basically ruins the movies because it tries too hard to be a movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/22/25 Full Review Giang N The worst zombie movies i have seen. All the characters r idiots. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/21/25 Full Review Raphael L I wasn't expecting anything better, it's just another generic zombie movie, although it has some pretty interesting special effects. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/19/25 Full Review Tim B Extremely bad Acting. Story is predictable and boring. Characters are slow and stupid. Female Main Actress Character is extremely annoying.
