Lewd, crude and very very silly--The Emu War is a completely over the top reimagining of a real 1932 military operation, wherein the army attempted to cull the wheat-crop-eating western emu population with heavy artillery, and lost. In this (extremely loose) version Major Meredith (Damian Callinan), whose son was kidnapped by the Emus, leads a motley crew of soldiers behind Emu enemy lines to find and destroy the Emu Queen. Cue explosions, puppets, mind-boggling effects and a surprising amount of explicit romance.

While I doubt anybody will be watching The Emu War and splitting their sides, it’s sometimes laugh-out-loud funny, and maintains an enjoyably squirrelly momentum. Go to Full Review

Comprehensively dreadful...Vulgarity for the sake of comedy is a noble enterprise. Vulgarity for its own sake is not only unfunny, it’s boring...Why is the Australian film industry still capable of making movies this bad? Go to Full Review

At times this is an epic tale of betrayal, tragedy, and ludicrous historical inaccuracies. At other times, the ghost of someone who’s just been killed starts having sex with his own corpse. Go to Full Review

Donna H Nov 14 Definitely a movie to watch while high /drunk or both. It's so bad it's good. I'm sure the writers were also high and drunk while writing this movie. It's a total piss take. See more Ben N Oct 5 Literally threw this in bin. Was far more entertaining seeing it fall amongst a hot chook carcass than on my tv. Couldn’t even finish it. How these writers and directors get funding is beyond all understanding. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WATCHING THE FILM. Who thought it was funny? Change your way, seek help. Insane and disturbing. I can't wait for the t shirt, because Emu's are the hardest bird to impersonate. See more Sue H Jun 21 Worst film ever. The best and funniest scene was the emu swaggering up to the injured solder and carrying a gun under one wing. See more Sussy B Jun 15 This movie is absolutely the best film ever produced. The writing is simply exquisite, and the cast really brings the film to life. The characters feel real, like I really know them personally and could really be friends with them if I took the time to really understand them. The plot twists are really interesting and are quite astonishing with his they effect the plot. I have a foot fetish. I dont really watch movies with puppets in them but the emu boobs are quite nice to look at and gave me a pleasurable experience during my watch. Genuinely thr greatest movie ever. 10/10 See more Read all reviews
