Russ G A competently made B-grade whodunnit. This is the second "Falcon" installment in which I've seen Barbara Hale, the future Della Street on the Perry Mason series, the other being "The Falcon Out West" where she plays a quite fetching cowgirl. Miss Rita Corday is easy on the eyes as the fiesty cabbie. She's wearing a "Yellow Cab" cap through most of it - was that an early example of "product placement?" As is usual in these quickies, there isn't a lot the viewer can do to "solve" the mystery except follow along for the ride and await the Big Reveal. I'm taking these "Falcon" films in as TCM puts them up. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Tom Conway returns as The Falcon and has quite a lot of fun solving a mysteryn set on the backlot of a fictional independent film studio (which is really the RKO lot). The Falcon is also partnered with spunky cab driver Veda Ann Borg. SPOILER! Besides the fun setting for the mystery, it was also funny to see the mystery hinge upon the same plot device that was used in Mel Brooks' "The Producers" of a producer overselling percentages of the film and then wanting it to fail to he won't have to pay out. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Backstage location filming at RKO Studios will please movie buffs, in this little mystery. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the best of RKOs Falcon pictures, helped by a particularly fast paced, witty script, great character performances and the use of RKOs studio backlot for much of the filming. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member The usual crime story to solve, but without having to build many or expensive new sets using RKO's own studios as the backdrop. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member this falcon entry has a great wise cracking female cabbie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
