Donald Clarke Irish Times Unfortunately, The Family suffers from an extreme case of advanced tonal disorder. Rated: 1/5 Nov 27, 2013 Full Review Mark Kermode Observer (UK) It's throwaway stuff, packed with corny gags about rich French cooking and annoying Gallic manners, in which light relief is offered by the sight of our hero torturing a plumber; think The Whole Nine Yards with cheese. Rated: 2/5 Nov 24, 2013 Full Review Charlotte O'Sullivan London Evening Standard Clearly, De Niro is happy to cannibalise his glorious past, but for those of us who love him, it's like sucking on old bones. Rated: 2/5 Nov 22, 2013 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review The Family mishandles almost every attempt at humor and tries to make a lovable, “Tony Soprano Lite” character out of Giovanni, except the paterfamilias is far too mean-spirited to win us over. Rated: 2/4 Aug 23, 2022 Full Review Sarah Brinks Battleship Pretension The stakes in this film are completely backwards. Feb 24, 2021 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins The tone shifts drastically from comedy to drama to action, while wasting character development on asinine subplots. Diaulas F Luc Besson faz desse filme, um ótimo filme sim! Pfeiffer e DeNiro são perfeitos. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/01/25 Full Review Fergus J This movie is nothing short of execrable. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/25 Full Review Jeepers C Is this Goodfellows, and the answer is no. It's still a good little movie about the mob. Robert Dinero plays a ex mobster thats hiding his family in a witness protection program. He and his family are trying to lay low and integrate into French Society. Every thing was going fine until the mob finds out where they have been hiding. It's a dark comedy, layed out in amob setting, that is entertaining and has a suspenseful ending. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/23/25 Full Review Amy L Implausible. No one ever sees consequences for their misdeeds. Worse though, is it's unforgivable dullness. Even this talented cast can't overcome the bad script. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/20/25 Full Review Leopold S Atrocious and tone deaf and unfunny and mawkish. Avoid!!!! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/20/24 Full Review Tamara K While this movie was basically panned I thought it was great. People need to take it for what it is which is basically a silly movie about people taking matters into their own hands. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/27/24 Full Review Read all reviews
