Audience Member George Pal was a genius. He gave us three of the greatest (and most money making for their time) movies; When World's Collide, The War of the World's and The Time Machine. Two of these are entirely superior to their horrible remakes. Yet, even as his films made money, studios gave him limited budgets and held him down. This is a great documentary about the man that more people should watch. He only pioneered film effects, and ushered in a new approach to film making. Those of you new to Pal, this is a good place to start. There's a couple pieces of footage worth mentioning. One being Pal on the Ed Sullivan show, and there are some old interviews as well.
