Factory worker Dolf Beeler (Ron McLarty) develops a grudge against hardware store owner Bud Bullard (Joe Grifasi) after being treated rudely by Bullard's violent cousin, Reverton (Rene Auberjonois), while buying paint thinner with an unlit cigar in his mouth, violating the store's no-smoking policy. When Dolf's car blows up and Bud's store burns down, both men blame the other and prepare to retaliate -- while Dolf's son, Tony (Scott Allegrucci), falls for Bud's daughter, Eva (Lynne Killmeyer).

Audience Member Slightly less intellect than a Coen Brothers film, this film has an admirable effort with a couple impressive moments of comedy. With a better studio behind it, it could have had cult potential. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Fantastic! Fun and never boring, if you are a fan of Thomas Berger, you will enjoy this movie. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Rarely (if ever) funny film about a feud between two families from nearby towns fuelled by a series of misunderstandings and false conclusions. Complicating matters is the budding romance between the kids of the two families (one a 13-year old girl who could easily pass for twice that age). I never figured out why one man was acting like an ape during the film. The kind of movie that I suspect would garner awards at an independent film festival for its offbeat story. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member A simple mistake that takes a life of its own sends rivalling families in neighbouring towns escalating into a full-blown feud. A bit of an offbeat and dark-toned comedy which had some potential but not quite enough to make a full go of it. Will appeal to some. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
