Kevin Carr Fat Guys at the Movies The things you'd expect to come out in a movie like this have a song based on them. The production numbers are hilarious... It was such a bizarre time in the 70s. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 12, 2022 Full Review Carey-Ann Pawsey Orca Sound Just as cheesy as you would expect based on the title. And when I say cheesy I mean the whole block of cheese. Hold your nose and dive in! Rated: 3/5 Mar 10, 2022 Full Review Frank J. Avella Edge Media Network And, of course, most of the women are exploited, except for Cindy Williams (on the Laverne and Shirley precipice), who manages to deliver a smart, funny and near-feminist performance...Future Soap star Diana Canova steals her moments... SkyRo P I stumbled upon "The First Nudie Musical" online, and let me tell you, it was a cringeworthy blast from the past. This ancient musical was so outrageously cheesy and dated that I couldn't bear to sit through it. Easily one of the most appalling films I've ever come across, this movie was clearly meant for comedic purposes, but it missed the mark by miles. Instead of the explicit sexual content we're accustomed to today, it featured a bizarre blend of comical nudity, with everyone prancing around in the buff. It was just... weird. Given the title of the film, I should have known what I was getting into. While I wasn't shocked by the content, I was still taken aback by just how far the movie pushed the boundaries in certain scenes. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this film to anyone, especially not for younger audiences. It's best to steer clear of this cringe-inducing relic of a bygone era. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/26/24 Full Review Audience Member Absolutely hilarious! Campy as hell. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member This cult film favorite follows along the lines of THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW (it was released one year after) but doesn't have the catchy score or quality acting that the latter film has. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member How could this be a cult classic? At the brink of bankruptcy, the production company must produce a pornographic musical to save the day. Filled with outrageous numbers and cheeky nudity. The First Nudie Musical is a flimsy comedy even laugh tracks won't save it. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member If Mel Brooks and Woody Allen had sex and produced an offspring he'd be Bruce Kimmel. He's like a poor man's combo of Brooks and Allen except more ballsier. Literally. He's only made three feature films in his lifetime (This film, Naked Space and Prime Suspect) the rest were either made for tv movies. Before that he was an actor starring in a few episodes of Happy Days & The Partridge Family. He also co-wrote the late 90s sci/fi flick "The Faculty" with Robert Rodriguez as the director. Nowadays he makes a web series called Outside the Box. He's even done a few stage plays like Deceit and The Brain from Planet X. If anything his ideas are more suited for the stage not the screen. His first film is a perfect example of that, but I can understand his intentions. A Nudie musical probably would never happen unless it's in a movie of course. Harry Schechter is stuck with having to make porno movies due to his dying studio about to slip into bankruptcy. The big wigs are forcing him to do it and since he has no choice he comes up with an idea: The First Nudie Musical. Much of the film is devised of heavy sexual puns and since it was made in the 70s there is a lot of un-PC humor which I admired greatly. Carefree 70s! Yay! :D You can obviously see where Trey Parker & Matt Stone came up with the idea for "Orgazmo". So expect a lot of bush. I mean literally a lot of it. Also bad jokes which were redeeming enough to still be funny anyways considering the lighthearted nature of the film. Dancing dildos that look more like vibrators, Orgasms turned into songs, Musical numbers full of tits & bush! Bush I tell you! And Cindy Williams with her cuteness of course. I could hear her say stunt cock all day long. :) Overall, this poor man's "The Producers" is a masterpiece of vulgar, degenerate cinema. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member So much fun and so clever. Really written well by Bruce Kimmel and also directed, and also played the director John Smithee in the film. He's become a friend, or really an acquaintance of mine these past few years. Love the silly music in this and we see a very young Cindy Williams in this. Also, Diana Canova - what ever happened to her? Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews
