In this semi-autobiographical film, Claude Berri looks back to his youth. In early 1950s France, Claude (Alain Cohen), a hormonal Jewish student in his final year of high school, is more focused on making good with his female classmates than excelling at his school work. Claude isn't considered an especially good-looking young man, which, of course, makes his situation difficult. Things change, though, when he receives an invitation from a classmate named Carole (Danielle Schneider).
