I adore underdog stories where the character is underestimated and shocks everyone by overcoming the situation. This story is especially good since Jackie Chan is showcased. Chan is slowing down, but he is not slow.

The movie brilliantly depicts the struggles faced by immigrants, offering a moving portrayal of their challenges. What stands out most in the film is the cleverness of the main character, reminiscent of MacGyver, as he uses his military skills to set traps. This adds depth to his character and ramps up the suspense. While the film's exploration of immigrant hardships is commendable, it's the protagonist's resourcefulness that truly makes The Foreigner captivating and memorable.

Jacky Chan bouncing around all over the place at 79 years of age is something. At first I felt his character was nuts, but it all makes sense by the end of the movie. Not a bad movie, a lot of action, explosions and dead bodies.

The Foreigner could've used less of Brosnan's bombast, frankly, and more of the mysterious Mr. Quan, but this dark-edged little razor blade of a film is ultimately a satisfying comeback for Chan. More, please.
