TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Dec 30 The Fostered is a 2025 thriller built on a strong concept that unfortunately never reaches its potential. The idea of a family taking in foster twins who turn out to be dangerous should have been disturbing and suspenseful, but the execution falls flat. While the screenplay hints at deeper themes like trauma, broken homes, and the desire to rebuild a better life, the film never fully commits to exploring them. Instead, it settles into a generic thriller structure that feels rushed and underdeveloped. The biggest weakness is the acting from the twin girls, which is distractingly bad. Their line delivery feels stiff and unnatural, often sounding like they are reading directly from a script. This completely kills the tension, especially in moments that should feel threatening or unsettling. Without believable antagonists, the film loses its emotional and psychological impact. Honestly not sure why I finished it. Maybe masochism. Maybe I just wanted to see if it could possibly get worse. At least it ends abruptly without any resolutions.
