Steve D Would be really good if Barbara's character didn't blame herself for, and end up with her rapist. Oh and her sisters find the rape hilarious... Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/26/23 Full Review Audience Member A little short of mediocre. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review ashley h The Gay Sisters is an amazing film. It is about three wealthy sisters who become orphans when their father dies in France. Barbara Stanwyck and Geraldine Fitzgerald give fantastic performances. The screenplay is well written. Irving Rapper did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama and romance. The Gay Sisters is a must see. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Classic Barbara Stanwyck as a strong willed woman. Well not her best or strongest role it's a good drama of three orphan sisters and their complicated life as adults. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member even 4 1942 this pic is a total title misnomer as this is really bummer theater-a grim melodrama.
