Synopsis
Raised by relatives after being orphaned at age 13, Irishman Roger Casement grows up to be a British consul. His reports denouncing human rights abuses in the Congo and Amazon earn him a knighthood in 1911. Returning home, he begins to advocate for Irish independence. Arrested in 1916 for treason, Casement loses public standing when diaries detailing sex with young boys are discovered, and he is executed. This documentary recounts his life and investigates whether the diaries were forged.
