Petros T "The Goodbye Place", Richard Kelly's first student film, is an intriguing affair and features some very interesting imagery that hints a little at what he would achieve later, yet is held back by the fact that the storytelling on display isn't very clear, something that diminishes the emotional impact a lot - it might not be too hard to make some sort of sense of it all if you think about it, but the film itself doesn't do a lot to help, much less sweep you up in the proceedings.
