10/19/2019 Having never heard of this I was expecting a cheap and nasty low budget production, but it's surprisingly enjoyable with good effects and excellent acting throughout. If the editing had been a little tighter in the first half, it would have been a genuinely good movie. As it is, the narrative gets a little lost between scenes, but it all comes together in the end. Stick with it. There's enough in it to enjoy, but remember it is mostly aimed at kids!! What it is cheesy CGI not withstanding is a fun story with enough blood for five films and witty insights on culture. Not to mention a great scene of someone playing sonic the head chalk... You could do worse for Saturday night Film and this is clearly in my top 10 all-time ghost movies right next to Patrick Stewart's the Cannaberry ghost. There are some wasted actors but the film do not really give them the chance to make it work. To say that is boring is an understatement. The film is dull. Even for a kid it must be uninteresting. The material and the ideas are utterly wasted and I had to skip it now and then to be able to watch till the credits. Do not waste time to watch it or to take your kids to watch. There are much better and funnier (even for adults)family films. Comedy ghost films have a long and well established tradition and new uptakes shouldn't be difficult to add. Instead we have a rehash of previous uptakes on the subject from "Ghost Busters" to Casper minus the humour. Do not encourage this kind of waste. See more Read all reviews
