Zane T @ZaneThind Dec 24 A movie that was so boring despite it boasting some very good actors. As a move to make an Asian/Hollywood collab this was not it. It's a war movie that you don't need to revisit any time soon. See more Leon S @Toxillo Dec 13 This is to this date the worst movie I've watched. The story is extremely wacky to begin with but feels even more ridiculous when it's packaged with such a prominent cast and huge budget. Incredibly, the story manages to be both strange and unoriginal at the same time, being basically just common movie tropes stacked on top of each other until the runtime is reached. I don't mind a movie being trashy but when it's trying that hard to be epic and cool without self-awareness, it's just cringe. The silver lining is that it is excellent material to rant about. See more Author W.A. S Nov 27 Well, here's another, "Why is this getting so much hate?" movie. No, it's not an Oscar winnder. It's your average popcorn movie. Watch it when you just want to chill or have it on in the background while you work, like I did. I especially liked the Crane Corps. I was going to use that in my next book but after researching, I found out it was an original idea from director Yimou Zhang and the production crew. Oh well. Although I'm not wild about the European saves the day trope, Matt Damon's character was well acted, which is no surprise. And I'll be looking up more movies by the director and actress Jing Tian.
