William M Jan 31 This is a work of pure genius. If anyone would have told me that I would be absolutely mesmerized by a feature length movie composed entire of clips from a mind-boggling number of earlier movies I would have asked them what they were smoking. This unique work of cinematic art is a collaborated effort of veteran Canadian filmmaker Guy Maddin, and two younger acolytes, Evan and Galen Johnson, who are credited as the film's editors. According to Alfred Hitchcock, editing IS filmmaking. Apparently, he's right, because there's no "writing" credit for this uncannily moving feature-length montage, which couldn't possibly have had a screenplay. See more Read all reviews
