Ben S @TheBenMan 4d Always come back to the Grey not sure why Liam is amazing nicely shot nice weaves one of my all time favorites. See more Les S @RT18719523 Apr 28 I recently stumbled across THE MARKSMAN, a rehash of every aggrieved father Liam Neeson film, and went looking for something to wash the taste out of my mouth. I somehow missed THE GREY at its release some 15 years ago, and what a find it is. Neeson is still the aggrieved avenger and guardian of what's left of our moral core, but this time around, his opponent is the natural order of things, and the contest is treated with the dignity and intelligence it deserves. The direction is taut, the acting spot-on, and the cinematography is outstanding. Things become slightly one-note, given the nature of the narrative, but the way in which Director Carnahan has chosen to present the wolves is particularly inspired--by the film's end, these creatures have far transcended their ordinary stature to remind us that even if there is no guiding power still in operation, there certainly must have been one at some point along the way. See more Dean M @RT18415093 Apr 25 Most aspects of this film were over-dramatized and unrealistic, though there were some some redeeming points, particularly pertaining to the human element and themes of what comes to matter most in life. Liam's supermodel wife/girlfriend, who looked more like a daughter, casually dying from some unknown terminal illness, the gang of hell-bent, murderous, elite combat-unit wolves with glowing eyes, the ridiculous work camp "bar" and it's roadhouse style raucousness, and these survivors, whose exposed skin should have frozen in minutes, waking around not even seeming the least bit cold, often carrying torches that look gas-fuelled, wearing these ideal backpacks that somehow keep Liam's gear bone dry even after falling into a river, which should have also left him dead of hypothermia almost instantly. Anyone who's spent time in the north will get sore eyes watching this movie from rolling them so often. However, what movie isn't like this. Take it for what it is and be entertained. See more Blake- N @PBSAniDom Apr 13 The Grey is a strong survival thriller that stands out for its raw intensity and emotional depth. It follows a group of men stranded in the wilderness after a plane crash, but it goes beyond a typical survival story by exploring fear, grief, and the will to keep going. Liam Neeson delivers a powerful performance as a man struggling not just against nature, but also against his own inner demons. His presence carries the film and adds weight to every decision the group faces. The harsh, icy setting is beautifully shot, creating a constant sense of danger and isolation. The wolf encounters are tense and brutal, making survival feel unpredictable and real. While the film is bleak and emotionally heavy, that’s also what makes it impactful and memorable. It doesn’t shy away from difficult themes and delivers a gripping, thought-provoking experience. Overall, it’s a gripping and emotional survival film with strong performances and atmosphere. I’d rate it an 8/10. See more Counseling Activities T @RT09093842 Mar 15 This is excellent ensemble acting, of men on the periphery of society and the world, thrown to the dogs so to speak... the landscape matches their harsh temperaments. Diologue is gritty and funny by turns.
