When Aliona meets a German man by the name of Helmut while in Berlin, they fall in love. After she returns to Russia, Helmut decides to surprise her in her home country and propose to her. The newly engaged couple then visit Aliona's hometown, so she can introduce her family to her soon-to-be groom. However, Aliona's ex-husband catches wind of her news and arrives in the village at the exact same time in an attempt to win her back.
