Audience Member I think I may be the only person in the world who loves this film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member This is the worst movie ever made. It is the only one I have ever walked out of in a theatre. 0 stars. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member While it is not what one would expect from such great comedians as Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, it is also not quite so bad as others make it out to be either. There are definitely funny parts, and witty dialogue, although there are also parts that make me shake my head and go "Was that really neccessary?" Or "Well that was over the top." It could have been a better written, considering the writers, but I did find it amusing enough that I rewatch it occassionally. So all in all is it a bad movie? Not entirely. Is it worth watching? If you like campy spoof type movies, then yes. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Frances H Not as good as Bedazzled or The Wrong Box (a personal favorite of mine based on a book Robert Louis Stevenson wrote with his stepson), but I still found it funny and amusing. Peter Cook and Dudley Moore should have made more movies! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/03/13 Full Review Audience Member Dudley moore is so funny Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Really clever and really funny. Sherlock Holmes meets the Goon Show meets Monty Python meets Airplane. I laughed long and hard. Lots of great one-liners. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Tony Rayns Time Out Truly one of the crummiest movies ever made. Feb 9, 2006 Full Review Kim Newman Empire Magazine A bizarre teaming of Warhol Factory director Paul Morrissey with a cast of top-rate British comedians, this founders badly. Rated: 1/5 Feb 19, 2003 Full Review Fernando Trueba El Pais (Spain) The humor is superficial and tawdry, and tries to copy Mel Brooks' style, but fails to do so. [Full Review in Spanish] Aug 6, 2019 Full Review David Parkinson Radio Times Morrissey is a notoriously unpredictable director, but in this case it's the shoddy screenplay, co-written by Morrissey, Cook and Moore, that is to blame. Rated: 1/5 Mar 26, 2018 Full Review TV Guide This tasteless spoof of the famous Sherlock Holmes tale stars Peter Cook and Dudley Moore as Holmes and Watson in a seemingly endless string of unfunny jokes told at the expense of Doyle's characters. Rated: 1/5 Mar 26, 2018 Full Review Uncut Magazine [UK] It's basically 'Carry On Sherlock', and it does the memory of all concerned no favours. Rated: 1/10 Mar 26, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews
