Steven R I fell asleep during this movie so rewatched it to find out what I missed which ended up being absolutely nothing. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/05/23 Full Review Aaron D Because this movie is a disjointed careless mess, here is my disjointed careless review. Leaps worse than the first, which is saying a lot. This has got to be on the top 10 worst found footage horror films I've watched. It's never a good sign when the name of the movie isn't the same as the title card. Or the fact this movie is up under three different names on Amazon Prime. You'd better be Hellbent, if you think you will enjoy this. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/27/23 Full Review Leonard E BORRRRRING. Frustrating watch. I dont know how they make such terrible movies. How do these movies get made? Does the director not realize how bad his movie is? Do they not watch the final product? I cant imagine them sitting there watching this film thinking theyve done a good job. The actors did a terrible job, it didnt even seem like they were trying. Plot is stupid, apparently the characters didnt learn anything from the first movie. This one is longer than the first and even more boring. The characters are annoying morons, constantly making poor decisions, not communicating well, its frustrating. Nothing happens til the very end and it doesnt make up for the terrible first 1 hour and 30 minutes. By then you realized youve just wasted 1 hour and 40 minutes of your life. Its so bad that by the end I was rooting for the bad guys cause I hated the characters so much. They deserve what they got for being so stupid. Why are they shocked terrible things are happening to them when theyve been purposely walking directly into trouble the whole movie. Ending is STUPID. DUMB DUMB DUMB. Like the first movie, it never explains how the bad guys are capable of doing the things that they do; apparently they have ghost super powers. I wish I could give this movie 0 stars. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/13/22 Full Review Liam D I don't recommend especially if your a fan of the original movie but I will have a little excitement if they announced a third movie Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/01/22 Full Review Audience Member Overall, an okay film. Half of it felt like nothing really happened and if someone told me it was made for the purpose of a slow burn or a buildup, I wouldn't believe them. If you've seen the first film, you would definitely get the feeling of "Okay, we get it. We know what's happening, move on." Mostly felt like unnecessary fluff with few tense or scary parts. The ending was interesting and an original take on ‘extreme haunt' and I enjoyed that about the movie but overall, it left much to be desired and felt like mostly a waste of time, but still an interesting idea of a movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Not nearly as good as the first one. It rambles too much with lots of filler. Watch it with your thumb on fast forward. The fact these 'friends' talked their traumatized friend Brandy back into more trauma when she refused multiple times - and blatantly lied about what they were planning - shows these people are pieces of garbage. The rule about anything scary is that each person gets to say no - and be 100% respected. Instead, they gaslighted her, ignored the damage they did, mock all legitimate concerns a normal person would have, and then did it to her again and again. These guys are violating her in just the same way as the blue skeleton people violated that rule. If you have 'friends' like this, get them out of your life. I get these people are acting off a script - but even making a movie like this is just wrong. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Noel Murray Los Angeles Times The basic concept behind this franchise remains sound: take some borrowed scares from professional haunters, add a few spooky twists, then leave the audience puzzling over how much that they saw actually happened. Sep 21, 2017 Full Review Leigh Monson Substream Magazine Let's call The Houses October Built 2 what it is. It's a vacation reel, released as a found footage horror film under the barest of pretenses to trick people out of their money. Rated: 0.5/5 Oct 1, 2020 Full Review Ryan Larson Ghastly Grinning It's a little light on scares, and the conclusion is a little bit of a cop out, but it does a lovely job calling out a part of the fandom that is growing and presenting questions that need to be asked. Jun 24, 2020 Full Review C.H. Newell Father Son Holy Gore If the first film wasn't so damn effective this experience wouldn't have been as disappointing. Rated: 2/5 May 3, 2019 Full Review Patrick Bromley F This Movie! Content to send the same characters down the same path with what appears on the surface to be the same results. Rated: 2/5 Nov 3, 2018 Full Review Abbie Bernstein Assignment X It's a shame to see the filmmakers betray the first movie in a way that renders this follow-up hard to believe and not very scary.
