Geoff Andrew Time Out Though shot for television on a low budget, this is a sumptuous experience. Jun 24, 2006 Full Review A.H. Weiler New York Times Its sad and bittersweet effects are slowly achieved in brooding, garrulous, overly introspective style, except by Jeanne Moreau. Rated: 2/5 May 10, 2005 Full Review Jonathan Rosenbaum Chicago Reader It's awkward yet exquisite. Feb 3, 2004 Full Review Matt Brunson Creative Loafing Minor but not without interest. Rated: 2.5/4 Sep 17, 2016 Full Review Witney Seibold CraveOnline Perhaps Welles, in playing a man who doesn't understand art, was embodying his more vitriolic critics. He was presenting ever more complex art to critical agents, and was constantly met with confusion and literal interpretations. Sep 5, 2016 Full Review Peter Canavese Groucho Reviews A dreamy fable of just-so proportion and asethetics...this literate and richly strange film has layers of meaning available to the viewer. Audience Member Needs another 30 to 40 minutes to be satisfying and feel like like a true project from Orson Welles. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member This is the last fictional feature film from Orson Welles and to me it's a minor work. It doesn't have his usual flare and is pretty short, running just 58mins. It's worth watching for film buffs and I did enjoy Jeanne Moreau in it, but it was a challenge to get through and I would only recommend for serious film enthusiasts. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Orson Welles trying to turn a myth/legend into a real one. Minimalistic adventure. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A masterclass on editing and a magnification of Welles's genius, The Immortal Story is one of Welles's best. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member This little known gem made between Chimes at Midnight and F For Fake is a masterpiece. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member A lost Orson Welles classic! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
