Claudia Puig The Asahi Shimbun GLOBE (Japan) The Insult provides a valuable, fascinating and hard-hitting history lesson on Middle East politics, particularly the plight of Palestinians. It instructs, but offers no easy answers. [Full review in Japanese] Rated: 3.5/4 May 3, 2019 Full Review Wenlei Ma News.com.au A thrilling, thoughtful and complex story. Rated: 4/5 Sep 8, 2018 Full Review Sandra Hall Sydney Morning Herald Any sense of predictability is dispelled by the film's ending which triumphantly unites the political and the personal by crystallising their connection in two great performances. Rated: 3.5/5 Feb 28, 2021 Full Review Agustín Acevedo Kanopa La Diaria Every little scene can be understood or anticipated with just 20 seconds of shooting. Everything is there for a reason, everything goes by a single line of didactic tone that ends up being irritating [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 5/10 Jan 9, 2021 Full Review Dustin Chang ScreenAnarchy The Insult is a timely film in the world of extreme political polarization and where political correctness is viewed as a bad thing, and that every word that we utter still matters, that there are consequences to what we say. Rami A This is the sad and ugly truth in Lebanon. Everyone is politically and religiously split. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/22/24 Full Review Audience Member Irrationally triggered then treaded amid convoluting politics for those outside domestic disputes and barely approached any word of it, it's the start of something more finely intricating than your usual engaging courtroom drama as it grows patiently deeper into the overall moral complex with unexpected parallels and sudden emotional satisfactions after factual considerations been raised. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review zed b As close to a perfect film as you can get. Thought provoking and dramatic and providing a view into a little understood set of regional tensions. ¡TOTALMENTE RECOMENDABLE! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review paul d The insult is a powerful, gripping film, a personal, political and courtroom drama that deeply explores the lives of its two protagonists. It has an intricate story, outstanding acting, and is set in the complex and emotional reality of today's Lebanon. An outstanding film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
