claudia p For its entire duration, it succeeds in conveying a sense of claustrophoby and powerless in the village set in the jungle (even the birds sound like ominous). One can actually feel the frustration and freigthened concern of both Hamish and Sarah, and even more of hers given the social rules of the time it is set and since she is the one periodically left in the station alone, with basically no protection. It is not a crime/thriller, so I don't think its somewhat predictable is necessarily a minus in this kind of genre, on the contrary. Besides, I found at least a couple of not-so-predictable moments, quite relevant, in the story, such as what happens early on to Mrs Jones (which I believed would have played a major villain role) and what the priest does with the money. PS: towards the end, it gets so frustrating that it becomes impossible to side with Sarah and gets angry along with her. Last but not least, it deserves being watched (from those who like this genre) for the performances of all the main actors. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't really know what to say except "weird." The plot wasn't clearly explained in the beginning so I had a hard time determining what the characters were doing in the jungle. Some of the characters were creepy.
