Leslie Felperin Guardian Directed ploddingly by Shaun Paul Piccinino, a sometime actor himself with a background in stunts, this isn’t going to win any awards, but it has a certain charm as grindhouse schlock. Rated: 2/5 Jan 23, 2024 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com There’s a more physical film to be made here, but “The Island” doesn’t follow through on its initial promise of fury, allowing White’s effort to shape a big screen butt-kicker to slowly dissipate. Leftheris R I wanted to like this but it was bland. It used dramatic music to try and build tension without earning it, neither boring nor exciting. Someone wrote 'it is what it is', and it was what it was. Not the worst movie I've seen but I wouldn't recommend it particularly. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/01/24 Full Review Wayne G It is what it is, a sunday afternoon family fun action film. One I would recommend Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/08/24 Full Review Dave H Truly awful film, acting is horrendous, plot is ridiculous, all in all terrible Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/04/23 Full Review Jay C entertaining, but the story was very bland and predictable. it felt like a 1980s action movie, written by a middle schooler... it can be enjoyable as a comedy at how badly the story plays out. kind of like "the room" there's even a "oh hi Mark" moment with one of the islanders. :D some good actors here and there (the police chief and the main villain), but many of the main characters are acted poorly... Michael Jai White might be the next Steven Seagal. he even runs a bit like him. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/05/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a very bad movie with very bad looking actors. Easily under 30% Rotten Tomatoes rating. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/19/23 Full Review Lee M A good watch... Nice plot, I'd say great acting villain, lead...
