Time Out Top-notch computer graphics, star voices and a gaggle of gadgets cannot disguise the fact that this family of the future is stuck firmly in 1962. Jun 24, 2006 Full Review Janet Maslin New York Times The film isn't any more fascinating than the television cartoon series that inspired it. It's only longer. Rated: 2/5 May 20, 2003 Full Review Hal Hinson Washington Post Jetsons: The Movie is nothing less than a master plan for Utopia. Your children may never be the same. Jan 1, 2000 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...the picture will appeal predominantly to fans of the original series... Rated: 2.5/4 Jun 19, 2018 Full Review Paul Trandahl Common Sense Media Great visuals, lackluster characters and plot. Rated: 4/5 Jan 2, 2011 Full Review Brian Orndorf BrianOrndorf.com A terribly featherweight movie, lacking a ripping sense of cinematic urgency to help understand why Universal would think this moderately amusing trifle needed a wide release and numerous marketing tie-ins. Audience Member It’s been 35 years Really, what's not to love about the big-screen adaptation of the famous Hanna-Barbera TV series? George, Jane, Judy, Elroy, Rosie the Robot, and Astro make their big screen debut George Jetson works for Mr. Spacely then he’s promoted to vice president of the Orbiting Ore Asteroid, Spacely is worried about losing his company’s profits so he sees George as expendable His family is in shock they have to move worried they won’t get to spend time together The family arrives and befriends several new characters from robots to blue furry aliens But they find out someone is sabotaging the plant jeopardizing George’s new job It turns out the ore used to make sprockets is actually home to tiny furry creatures called Grungies with the plant’s drill decimating it This is another 90's childhood flick I really adore It is a shame it didn’t get the best reception with critics and only made $20.3 million on a $6 million budget It’s important to note too that a lot of fans took issue with Tiffany’s casting Many of the voice actors passed away during and after the making of it But to me; the visuals are great, the characters are fun, the animation is a step up from the show itself with early CGI making it much larger, there’s great world building, and the soundtrack dominates this whole thing :) Judy voiced by artist Tiffany is actually not that bad; sure she's a bit whiny and insecure at the beginning but she gets to shed some more light at finding romance away from her home I appreciated that the filmmakers actually gave her an arc in this The Orbiting Ore Asteriod is an amazing infrastucture Again it just sucks knowing that during the production both George O'Hanlon and Mel Blanc sadly passed away but they brought such spirit and life to their characters The movie's environmentalist message which I never got for so long isn't that horrible, especially being about profit and compromise The kids can grasp onto it with ease being socially responsive The movie should have been longer and maybe a bit more epic but for families it's good, cute fluff where it's at, even the dated stuff has a goofy charm to it being it’s from a property of the 1960s released in the 1990s being set in the 2060s It’s far from being a bad movie trust me plus it gives a glimpse of a possible future for us Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/07/25 Full Review Dan L This does not even appeal to fans of the original series. This appeals to no one. What is with the musical number? If someone puts this movie on, you need to shout, "Jane! Stop this crazy thing!" or simply exit the building on a conveyer belt and never look back. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/16/24 Full Review Noe G Jetsons, the movie is my most favorite Hannah Barbera movie I give this film a 10/10 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/12/24 Full Review Trafalgar L Oy vey! A troubled production coupled with the poor advanced health of the cast. George O'Hanlon and Mel Blanc passing away before the film's completion, the decision to drop Janet Waldo for pop singer Tiffany Darwish and an ill-fated release date. Despite its shortcomings, it does provide a proper send-off to the characters we've come to know and love. However, the fact that the movie goes from a family comedy to an environmentalist one after the climax is a bit disappointing. It'll definitely entertain the kids, but unless you are a fan of the franchise you'll be bored. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/02/24 Full Review Dennis C I think the Jetsons are classic. I enjoyed the movie as a kid. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/22/23 Full Review StephenPaul C LOL, the funniest 01 hour: and 22 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
