Steven D. Greydanus Decent Films Praised by John Paul II as "the best possible film based on my play"… ultimately affirms that, in spite of all difficulties, love remains the vocation of the person and the hope of the future ("The future depends on love"). John T Very powerful movie. If you want your marriage to last, you should watch this. Be inspired by it. Pope John Paul II is a saint. He changed the world for the better. Learn from him. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/13/24 Full Review Audience Member I'm quite familiar with the source material of this film, as I'm currently assistant directing the play. So with that at the forefront of my mind, I was not a very big fan of this film. The play that inspired this film, has so much rich dialogue and subtext, and it speaks to the heart of any person listening. So I was quite disappointed when the film lacked most of that depth and decided to drop the most exquisite parts of the play in favor of the dull pieces. Not a big fan, will not re-watch. Also, the quality of the filming was poor in general. Ghastly foley work. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member I saw this in a high school class, and in all honesty, I have very little recollection of it. But I had an unabashed loathing of it then, so my irrational hatred remains. Boring and bad. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
