Panos Kotzathanasis HanCinema "The King" is a great movie, which reminded me of Scorsese's days of glory, and a film that proves that Godard was right when he was saying " It's not where you take things from - it's where you take them to". Mar 7, 2019 Full Review Craig Mathieson The Sunday Age The sound and fury negates subtlety or cause, but this whirlwind drama is a telling primer on South Korean white collar rituals. Rated: 3/5 Feb 10, 2017 Full Review Vicky Roach Daily Telegraph (Australia) Despite its ambitious scope, The King is longer than it needs to be -- the middle section, especially, would benefit from some judicious editing. But the acting is strong and the archetypes solid. Rated: 3/5 Feb 10, 2017 Full Review Travis Johnson FILMINK (Australia) a slick, snarky, breathless ride through hidden corridors of power Feb 2, 2017 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru Slick, gripping, provocative and enormously entertaining. Rated: 8.4/10 Jan 31, 2017 Full Review Charline Jao The Mary Sue With parallels to real-life scandals and offhanded references to moments like the June Democracy Movement... The King succeeds as a political drama invested in the constantly changing dynamics of power. Rated: 3.5/5 Jan 26, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

jjjjjj j A film that separates itself from generic gangster fills with a larger sense of morality while still keeping the main plot as interesting as any. The ending is a bit cliche and probably a bit to quickly done but that should not take away from an overall great movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The best Korean movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Not really care for the subject matter but the acting is awesome. Surprisingly a happy ending!
