Hugo S Jan 7 After the tragic death of their parents, three siblings reunite in their childhood home to discuss the selling of the property. The secluded house brings memories of a past haunted by childhood abuse. The surrounding forest triggers a sinister behaviour in the siblings, culminating in a tragic event. "The Knocking" focuses on the horrors of a family coming to terms with their traumas. The movie uses folklore and pagan themes to create a plot depicting human nature taking revenge on those who threaten its existence. The final act is unimpressive as it lacks the boiling point typically expected in a slow-burn horror movie. Dull and formulaic!
