Audience Member According to IMDB, this film is director Sun Cheng's homage to Akira Kurosawa's "Yojimbo," but I failed to see much of a connection outside of there being two waring clans. Ti Lung plays a kung fu instructor specializing in weapons and teachers a young protege in order to defeat their enemies. What the story lacks in originality, it makes up for with well done training and fight sequences. Also of note is that this film marked one of the first uses of Steadicam in a Shaw Brothers production, which although it's not exactly Stanley Kubrick, is still kind of fun and not something you see in many of these old school 1970s kung fu action flicks. Overall, this is a solid Shaw Brothers production that's well worth watching. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
