Finding the long-lost wreck of the warship USS Charlotte has been the lifelong pursuit of Levi (Julian Sands), an aging expat running a tourist dive business in the British Virgin Islands together with recent college dropout Noah (Jack Parr). When the USS Charlotte emerges for the first time in eighty years after a tropical storm, Noah's friends visiting the island insist for them all to do a once-in-a-lifetime dive on the newly discovered wreck before it’s handed over to the authorities. The dream dive rapidly turns into a nightmare as they become trapped in the darkness of the Charlotte's interior, thirty meters down and with a dwindling air supply. And then they discover that they are not alone.

Claudia Puig FilmWeek (LAist) There's sharks, if you're into that, but it's pretty tedious. Aug 3, 2024 Full Review Glenn Kenny RogerEbert.com As goofy and unconvincing as it often is, “The Last Breath” is difficult to get exasperated over. It may go down easier still if you opt to see it in a very well-air-conditioned setting. Rated: 2/4 Jul 26, 2024 Full Review Noah Berlatsky Chicago Reader Is it great art? No. Is it good art? Also no. But there is something satisfying about the blank, sleek, toothy justice of it. Jul 24, 2024 Full Review Derek Sante KSNV (Las Vegas) A simplistic film that overextends. Rated: C Aug 23, 2024 Full Review Nicholas Bell Fish Jelly Films (YouTube) Death by shark is an appropriately longed for finale as any possibly could be for this clutch of silly, stupid characters bumbling about like brainless morons in yet another boring, tensionless time waster. Rated: 1/5 Aug 7, 2024 Full Review Aaron Neuwirth We Live Entertainment Some compelling moments aside, it feels fairly generic and less fun than it could have been. Basically, The Last Breath lacks bite. Rated: 4/10 Aug 7, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

BRizz 2 The Last Breath is a shark thriller I went into hoping for at least a semi-decent survival flick. Unfortunately, it didn’t come close. Let’s start with the CGI—it was just bad. The shark never looked even remotely real, which completely took me out of the movie. It felt like the filmmakers kept adding more sharks just for shock value, but it only made the visuals worse. One of the most baffling parts of the film was the random sacrifice by a male character. He gives up his life so the main girl can survive, but… why? There was no real emotional build-up, no deep connection between the two, no justification. It wasn’t even a situation where they were both doomed and one had to go. It was just out of nowhere, and it made no sense unless he had a death wish. I couldn’t buy into that moment at all. The story quickly unraveled from there. The plot lost focus, the characters became one-dimensional, and the acting fell flat. Everyone did what they could with the material, but the writing was so scattered that even solid performances wouldn’t have saved it. In the end, The Last Breath tried to be emotional and intense, but the poor effects, messy storytelling, and strange character choices made it hard to take seriously. This one’s a miss for me. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/25/25 Full Review Audience Member A mixed of a lot of shark movies Old Levy deserved better... Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/18/25 Full Review Steve N One of the best sharkies I have seen in a long while. The underwater scenes are well done and the cast likeable. It doesn’t take its self too seriously either and can have a laugh at how daft some of it is, overall well worth your time if you like this sort of thing. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/11/25 Full Review Tohellwith G Typical shark movie where sharks are much more aggressive than in reality and everything goes wrong in every possible way and only a couple of the cast survive the movie. Very trite. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/20/24 Full Review Dallas H This flick has the same plot points and two-dimensional characters as other tropical location-based horror movies. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/16/24 Full Review Ricardo d O nivel de inteligência dos personagens se resume na fala: Tubarões tem ouvidos? São tantas pérolas de memes que nem vale a pena comentar.
