Joe S Excellent gay themed film. Well acted and directed. After a bachelor party, two longtime friends-- one gay and one straight-- stay after the party and the straight friend and his gay buddy have oral sex. Every year, they meet on the same date in the same hotel room where things slowly escalate. if you are expecting a sort of porno, you will be disappointed, It's an interesting psychological study that holds one's interest. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Well acted and plotted, this movie bears some resemblance to "Same Time, Next Year", the 1978 movie about a married man and a married woman who meet once a year for an affair. This exploration of a straight man's romance with his gay best friend is at times touching, and at times funny. I wouldn't say the ending was the best, and certainly wasn't filmed well, being the only outdoor sequence in the movie; but overall it was enjoyable and touching. It has the feel of a stage play, which for this content was exactly right. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member To be honest, I really enjoyed the movie. I have very close straight male friends, and I could relate to the sense of trust and love and safety between the two characters. At points, I found the movie touching and other times thought-provoking. One does have to overlook some clumsy setups that could easily have been better contrived: the annual rendezvous occurs the night before the couple's anniversary, the excuse of sick friends, and the "boyfriend-out-of-the-hat" at the end. Have a drink, don't think too hard, and just let it take you away for a few hours. T Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie surprised me in a good way. Much better than I expected, both in acting and in writing (even if I didn't like the end) Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Lewis throws a bachelor party for his best mate Cooper. After the (lame) hotel room party has died and everyone has gone home, Cooper and Lewis take a few more drinks and after a game of Truth, things get a little frisky. They make a pact to meet there on that day every year so Cooper can get this urge out of his system. Over the course of 12 years the film depicts four of these nights and show how the pair's friendship changes. I was sold by this film's trailer, but sadly it doesn't live up to it. The actors are good, but I whilst seeing their friendship believable, they never really sell their chemistry. The writing is a bit hit and miss too and the final act is proper bollocks. Sadly it really had potential. It would make a great 2 man play, but in this genre it just disappoints. Bravo for the full frontal nudity, but the sex scenes are cold and unbelievable. Shame.
