The modern world holds many secrets, the most astounding being that witches still live among us. Centuries ago, Kaulder (Vin Diesel) managed to slay the all-powerful Witch Queen, decimating her followers in the process. Before her death, she cursed the valiant warrior with her own immortality, separating him from his beloved wife and daughter in the afterlife. Diesel is definitely not the kind of actor who can effortlessly coast through a film by dint of his rakish wit and charm. He needs a vehicle (ahem) that plays to his strengths. The Last Witch Hunter is definitely not such a vehicle.

Diesel is fast and furious enough to deliver the Conan the Barbarian level dialogue ('The benefit of eternal life is that I get to kill you twice!') with conviction but the movie is dull enough you'll wish these witches would go away for a spell.

The people who rated this five stars and complain about the critics and their supposed aGeNdAs absolutely can't understand why food critics don't give Michelin stars to Chili's and TGIF. That's about the best analogy I can come up with. This is movie is a war crime. Against me, personally, because I had to watch it. Maybe I just war crime'd myself? Should I petition The Hague for my own arrest? If they'll put me out of my misery, I just might.

As usual, pay no mind to the tone deaf critics as this movie was excellent. I find myself re-watching this movie as much as i do the Harry Potter and Lord of The Rings/The Hobbit series, which is quite often. I do hope they release a sequel to this movie.

To write a review of this film would be an act of hubris equal to writing a sequel to the Holy Catechism, but casting Vin Diesel as the Archangel Michael. I'll just mention a few things to consider alongside or after your watching. This film contains some disturbing scenes rendered in 2015-era graphics, and cost perhaps more than 90,000,000 dollars. This was 100% Vinjamin Diesel using his own money and that of private equity firms to actualize his own childhood tabletop fantasies. I had no idea this was part of the Dungeons and Dragons Dung-o-verse until I checked the Wikipedia. How does this cinematic triumph have an 18% on this godforsaken website when that Glen Campbell movie has a 100%?? There is no justice in this world...
