This is a really great little documentary by a BBC journalist in Baghdad just 6 months after the occupation. He follows Samir Peter, who was once a famous pianist in Iraq, and is now reduced to sleeping in a hotel basement and playing for an empty hotel bar. It is a tragic, yet powerful story of the effect of war on families, artists, journalists, everyone.... The score is all original Samir Peter composition and performince, and is some of the most brilliant piano music I've ever heard. Not only is he talented, but extremely intelligent and witty. A very enjoyable, yet depressing documentary. All Americans should see this!
